To say that I find Hellsing Ultimate an enjoyable show is to say that Russia's merely been helping Ukraine recently. No, I LOVE THIS SO MUCH! But I shall not allow my blatant love to distract from providing an unbiased review that isn't completely praising it.

Firstly, let me talk about the story: I, personally, really enjoyable and great. But allow me to talk about what it is, and why I enjoyed it. The story basically is impossible to give out with any spoilers, but it goes like this: Alucard and Seras go and do their jobs as vampire hunters. But don't take this in a bad way, what they do gradually increases in intrigue and begins to give you a sense of a greater world and more groups at play, and you discover just who Alucard is and why. But ultimately, the reason I said "I, personally" is because... you don't need the story at all. If you really wanted to you could go and take and grab a drink once a fight ends and then come back in five minutes and a fight would be back and you'd need very little story to enjoy it or understand it. It's almost always "WE MUST KILL YOU BECAUSE YOU'RE A VAMPIRE/BECAUSE WE WANT TO!", and with that in mind you can go and do what I just said and have a good time. But if you do invest in the story you'll enjoy it and develop a greater love for the show and the characters.

And for the characters... How to put this... they're all absolute badasses. By that I mean that they all have at least one moment when they show they are awesome and are fully deserving of my praise in terms of action; they all shine, and that's what all action characters should do, and even the "baddies" shine (especially Anderson, he's great). As for their actual character, I'm just going to go into the big three (Alucard, Seras, and Anderson, as they're my favourites): you see all three of them get their own fully fleshed out personalities and reasons for everything they do, to the point of where I was crying manly tears (on the inside) at a certain death scene. And as for everyone else, they're all great too; they all show genuine emotions and are all true to their characters even when (some of them) die.

Regarding the soundtrack: very goodt? By this I mean that I didn't take much notice of it, but it was always there, making every scene that much more epic and heart wrenching. For example, I remembered that when Alucard was on fire (in Ep. 11, maybe?) the music was perfect and built up the tension as everything was burning around him. And another point I remember was the Major on his airship overlooking a city burning, he was humming in sync with the music and it made for an incredibly badass and whimsical feel to it, much like the Major himself.

Also, I think it's worth mentioning that the dub is very good. I watched it dubbed and I refuse to watch it subbed, because no one, I repeat NO ONE, can match Crispin Freeman as Alucard. And every character was heartfelt and carried all the emotion their bodies showed, and even the ones that weren't shown but were present, most prominent in the moments of madness by many characters.

And for my own personal enjoyment? I can't express how much I love this anime. It is the equivalent of pure, undiluted heroin being injected directly into your left atrium for action and entertainment. I enjoyed this immensely and it even beats watching a pygmy elephant rob a bank (and do yourself a favour and imagine how entertaining that would be).
