"What if my lifespan was predetermined.. I wonder how i'd handle that? I would spend that limited time living my life to the fullest".

The line at the end of the series perfectly summed up the entire series. A wonderful roller coaster of emotion, that'll take you on a journey of seeing the world in the eyes of Giftias. An artificial Humanoid produced by a fictional company in the future, that has been integrated perfectly into the society, as if they're naturally part of the world. These humanoids have various roles, depends on what their human partner needs. They can be children, co-worker, bodyguards, or even parents.

Even though they are very versatile, they are still man-made, they can only live through predetermined lifespan. Once they've reached the end of their lifespan, they have to be 'retrieved' by the company's 'Terminal Service' staffs. That's where our protagonist came into play. After graduating from his school, he stumbled upon the Terminal Service 1 office, an humble yet unusual branch office, where he got paired up with a mysterious girl that he met before, Isla. With his naivety and her clumsiness, they have a strange yet intriguing combi that made a lot of their clients dumbfounded, yet blissfully happy at the end.

The story is simple yet well developed, carefully guiding you to reveal the truths behind the Gistias. Unfortunately, for me the early episodes feels like they're trying too hard to make this series 'as not depressing as possible' by breaking the build-up touching atmosphere with jokes and funny scenes, which ultimately made my heart a bit confused (?). But after 4 episodes or so, shit got serious. The plot intensed heavily, the mysteries unfolds, and the atmosphere glooms. It may sounded like horribly dark, but it's actually quite warm. The series didn't really 'forces us to cry' by showing our characters screaming at each other's throat or something, it's actually quite the opposite. You'll find these complex characters smiling through almost all of the hardships, which made my tears flows ridiculously. And that, if i may say, is the main charm of this series and could be the very core message that it tries to implies through the story, " I would spend that limited time living my life to the fullest. No matter how matter what i faced".
