Story: 6
At the same time I like the setting and idea of the story, but also in hindsight see many previously used elements as well. There was also no real explaination of the virus, as while it supposedly killed everyone 13 and over, there were numerous people who werent affected, like the leader. Another is what actually caused the virus, it is implemented that the humans were experimenting and ending up causing the virus, but that doesnt exactly explain how everyone supposedly died at the relatively same time, as last time I checked in biology, viruses cant just chose when to activate in everyone at the same time.
There are also, as...blantly stated by others, a few similarities to AOT, however some of the comparisons can be said to be far fetched, like the apocalypse setting, and the only one to get out alive, while others I cant really deny all that well, like the revenge against them all, and to protect everything, like a certain E.Y. we all know...and kinda like.
Art: 7
The art wasn't fantastic, but it certainly wasn't lazy either. There could definitely been improvement, but it wasn't anything to scoff at.
Sound: 7
The sound was well...kinda average. The intros and outros did have some decent music, enough so that I always watched the intro instead of skipping it like I usually do for most animes. However, everyones music tastes are different and you may not like it as much as I did, so take that with a grain of salt.
Character: 7
I won't sugarcoat it, most of the characters have been seen before throughout anime, like the hotheaded protaganist whos an ass (loved that though), the guy whos in it for his sick sister, the tsundere girl who acts important, and the pansy guy who acts like a pacifist. Then there was Mika, who somehow got it twisted into his head that the humans are the enemies, despite being human once himself (still not sure how that happened). Finally the 2 characters I loved the most, the short quiet sarcastic girl who likes to get under peoples skins and the general/leader who just doesnt give 2 shits for his fellow lackeys.
Enjoyment: 8
Despite its cliches and similarities, it was the anime that I would always watch first or second on the saturday morning, so that goes to show that this anime has some watch value, with all of its action, drama, funny moments, and etc. While it may be called a AOT ripoff, it has promise and its own charms if you look past it.
