School days was an anime where i went in without anything and for awhile i thought it was cute. However the ending betrayed my expectations and is one of the reasons why i would put this in a "top 5 best anime of all time list". One of things i think writers of anime don't do a whole lot is surprise their audience, or make drastic changes in their writing. I think School days did that perfectly with Makoto by characterizing his innocence turning sour through the whole series. The art is meh to be honest but the sound is great at supporting what is happening in the show, especially the soundtrack.
