The Story of Your lie in April was masterfully crafted and I considered one of the saddest anime out there. The story is told thought a masterfully and even though is more slice of life it is still very enjoyable and engaging. The overall plot I believe is Fantastic the view seeing the development of the character and how has it affected others. But the story has it flows but they are really minor and do not overall change anything. I wish some episode should be cut change them to better suit the story. The ending is one of the saddest moments of the anime and to this day I can’t watch the ending without crying.

The Art in this story is great with great background and artworks. The character design look great but I don’t like how prominent some of the people lips is and Kaori hanging eyes that look really odd. But despite that it look great with one of most gorgeous background and still artworks.
Sound (10)
With the mixed of classical and J-pop soundtrack it is a masterfully soundtrack. It not only helps to convey the emotion of the show but also transcend a higher meaning about life, freedom and living in the moment. The first op was an excellent choice and is energetic and powerful. One of the saddest songs is the Wacci because is played during the ending.
Characters (10)
This anime had some great characters and each of them enjoyable in their own right. The main protagonist Kōsei is great and we were about the show this struggle of the death of his mother. Kaori is also a great character and the main female lead that is carefree and live in the moment but has a dark secret that she didn’t told any of his friends. Sawabe was also a good friend to kosei and the other love interest. While many people seen to not like her and see her as annoy, but I disagree because she has been friend with kosei for years and now with Kaori showing up I can understand her struggle for love. Many of the side character like Takeshi and Emi were also great and been both friends and rivals. They all in the end show some great character drama and development.

I really enjoy the anime and really enjoy every moment of it. It was fantastic and very emotionally touching.

Overall this is a masterpiece of a work and I considered a one of the saddest anime to be aired. This show rival the emotional levels of shows like angel beats and Clannad and Clannad after story.
