Golden Time is very unknown to the mass of anime viewers. Despite being under the surface of all these mainstream and fantastic anime, Golden Time offers its own, beautiful but yet, heartbreaking story. One that will leave you satisfied with how they executed it and if you're like me pleased to see some closure regarding relationships.

Storyline; 9

Golden Time's storyline is unique compared to the large number of anime I've watched thus far. It features a painful love story that will definitely make you feel a time or two. You'll find yourself frustrated with character decisions, sitting at the edge of your seat during the heat of drama, heartbroken during sad moments and fist pumping whenever something turns out okay! Maybe that last part is only me but, there are many elements intertwined within Golden Time and you won't feel cheated if you think this show only features a lovey-dovey story. Ultimately it will have a more relatable (excluding the main characters conflict) feeling to it.

Art/Animation Style; 8

Golden Time is not you're 2015 Fate Stay Night animation but for its time, I found it quite appealing. You'll find this is easy to follow and in my opinion the artists behind this fantastic work did a job well done.

Sound; 8

If you're more with the feel-type music than Golden Time will do a fine job of satisfying that for you. Not only are the two openings well done in both animation and music but the OST Soundtrack has a nice few songs that you can sit down to and enjoy. I personally recommend listening to a few if that's you're taste. Overall the sound work done within the show was well done and fit key scene's when it needed too.

Character; 9

Although none of the characters from Golden Time are in my top ten, I definitely had to consider putting Koko, the main female protagonist, into my top ten. You'll find each of the characters develop at their own rates and reach some kind of conclusion that will leave you at least fine with the fact they had some sort of epiphany.
Banri is the most dynamic character within Golden Time and you'll find following his story quite a rough one, with a lot of ups and downs, eventually you'll reach that critical breaking point and just pity him. His life is a harsh one but that's what will make following his journey a great one.
Koko is probably the second most changing character and the most annoying starting out. Her personality throughout the show may leave a bad taste in your mouth initially but seeing her change was one of my favorite aspects of this show. The pain and happiness she goes through, it's easy to follow and connectable. You may even cry at a point or two.
Banri and Koko are the two most main characters but there are a few "main" supporting characters that you'll be introduced to and each of them have their role/meaning to furthering the story along and you'll be pleased to see there are little to no fillers within this show.

Enjoyment; 10

All in all, I loved Golden Time and I definitely recommend it to anyone searching for a new romance/drama. Though it may not be Clannad sad or Nisekoi silly, it has it's perks and you'll definitely find a new connection with this show.

In the end, I give Golden Time a 9/10 for the job well done in making a dramatic romance anime that was well executed and easy to follow. You'll never find a dull moment watching something so enticing!
