Preliminary (4/12 eps)
After seeing the first episode, I honestly thought that I'd brush off and drop this anime.

It's a slice of life anime about a young calligrapher who was forced to move to an island after he punched an art director who was critiquing his work. Throughout his stay, he slowly got to know the villagers and he was able to learn a lot of things from them.

It doesn't have a complicated plot, the character development is not dramatic. There's no magic, epic battle scenes or romantic love story. Each episode does not have an intriguing mystery and there wasn't even a cliffhanger, but for some reason, I had the urge to watch the next episode just so I can see Handa-sensei and the villagers live their everyday lives.

If I can describe Barakamon in one statement, it would be a "really laid back and charming show".
