Graphics/ Art: Noragami has Awesome art as the graphics engine is great. In general the world is made with great detail and the characters design is very good especially with their emotional expressions. Of course it has some special "effects" for the combat but it is not so much as other animes, you can say its not extreme. The most fighting is about combat movements instead of "energy" skills. Also the colors of the animation are exactly as they should be and they offer a fantasy experience.
The opening is awesome , not spoiling the whole animation but just showing some things and the music is awesome. The OST's are the best and if you own a surround system you are gonna have an awesome time listening to them especially if you watch this in HD quality which i recommend!
Plot: We are in a world where the Gods actually exist. They live on peoples prayers and offers and as the people remember then and pray to them they get more power and are greater gods! One of our first protagonists is Yato, a god that is fighting to survive in a world where no one remembers him and will do almost anything for anyone. Yato being left by his weapon is trying to fight evil spirits from this world when he gets a new weapon, a young boy named Yukine. Yukine is still young and cannot recognise and respect fully a god, so they have a few problems in their relationship which leads Yukine to soul corruption. They also meet a young girl named Hiyori which has an ability to see and sense spirits and gods. Hiyori by mistake becomes half demon and occasionally loses her body.
(SPOIL) What no one knows yet is that Yato is a very old God of Calamity that has killed countless people and souls in order to survive and his past will bring problems to everyone!
In Depth Plot(Spoil): The way that the animation describes its world is very good and gives you a realistic style of Gods that actually exist and people can see them but forget almost immediately they exist. It gives you the feeling of loneliness they get because they are surrounded by people but they are practically alone. Also i believe that the names of the Gods used are actual Japanese gods used by mythology.
Yukine has to deal with the fact that he is dead and forget about the things he wanted to do as alive. He no longer remembers his past life and as he sees people his own age with a family and friends he is jealous so in the first part of the series we see a lot of Yukine's personality Development. He has to accept that bad things happen to everyone , not only him and to learn how to deal with them.
Yato is a God that has done terrible things in his past and he is trying to break new and forget all about it by becoming a good god and doing good deeds. A character named Nora follows him as Nora is his former weapon. Nora means Stray and is a weapon owned by many gods at the same time. Nora weapons are used to do actions a god would never place his actual weapon to do. This will bring much trouble to him as an old friend or foe is searching for him.
Hiyori is always mocking Yato that he is a slacker which is not actually true as Yato gets jobs for 5 yen and does them all and constantly exploits him to fix her body that has been half demon due to "bad timing" i would say. In general Hiyori has a strange character and doesn't actually knows what she wants, but in general thought she is a kind character. Actually she could be a character with a personality disorder...
