This is my first review, but I thought "meh, why not?", since these things have always helped me choose animes to watch.

Angel Beats is a really popular and, in a way, overrated anime. Most have already seen it and, if you haven't, you're behind. I would seriously recommend you watching this anime because not only is it intriguing, but it's also a fresh theme and type.

I won't go into details about the anime, since I'm afraid of spoiling anything and MAL has an awesome synopsis, but it's a beautiful drama/comedy/romance anime (though the romance isn't really in its full splendor until the last episodes of the series). It's very loyal to the plot and sticks to it- I didn't find one filler episode, though there certainly were filler parts, as is there with every single anime in existence. The comedy relief is amazing when it comes to animes like this - animes "destined" to be overdramatic and serious are kicked down a notch with this fun, silly, cute humor.

However, I do have something to criticize -the ending. Sure, who isn't a fan of romance? But this series was NOT, at all, about romance- it wasn't close to one of the main focuses of the anime. So why the heck does it have to end in a romantic, cliché way? It was seriously very disappointing; it put me off from the series, and it even made me retract my suggestion to my friends to watch it. It was entirely off-putting.

Besides the ending and one or two parts, the series is absolutely lovely. Highly recommend it (though maybe skip the ending?). You'll enjoy seeing this, I assure you.
