This isn't your typical harem anime, albeit it has panty shots in the most ridiculous situations. It in no way reaches to a point where the story is just panty shots. It has substance and great substance at that, whereas, I do feel that the episodes should have been lengthier because of the meat they contained. But this is not necessarily bad, as I might have enjoyed more if it, if that was the case but even without it, it is still a great anime.
The characters have a solid back story. With each of the 4 girls being given 1 episode each and the special one according to me, given more. That means for our enthusiasts who like a conclusive ending, they will get one. So even if you don't like this anime and do not want to continue, you will be satisfied. For the others who are craving more, this anime has a 47 minute special, a second ongoing season and more.
What makes the back stories interesting are how unique they are, and the fact that you can't really favor any of the girls. I have watched many harem animes and if you see my list you will believe me. But rarely do I come across an anime where I don't find any of the girls annoying, its not that run down, Koros here Koros there, or clingatron 1000. The author seems to know just the right amount of elemental attitude he has to put in each of the girls.
The main character is OP. If you are looking for a guy who knows his stuff he will be it. Especially for people like me who love the main guy from The Irregular at the Magic Academy, although this one is a lot more realistic. And this anime hits more on a serious note, with good comedy to keep it from running you down.
I highly recommend this anime.
