This movie is better then the first Gintama movie in every way. It is both funnier then the first one with me laughing outloud multiple times. It's crazy then the first one in both it's plot with involves time travel and a incurable killer disease. It's more emotional then the first movie with very touching moments that demonstrate the strength of the bonds between the charters and would have meant even more if I had watched the series. The other one I wasn't able to take seriously at all and this one I was able to take somewhat serious despite it breaking the fourth wall at the begging and referencing other anime by name in the movie. This movie was made for fans of the series but even as a non-fan I was immensely entertained.
