The first episode intermediately caught my attention, with a fairy normal introduction and comical moments and seen thou the eyes of an ordinary person who saw the world with a ultra-realist view, that saw nothing special in the world. But then he encountered a girl that would forever bring color and bright to this monotone world.
The art where spectacular and especially in the important scenes, it felt like all the colors and effects where masterfully used to express all the emotions and settings of the anime, almost like the colors where alive. And in my opinion is this the best artwork A-1 pictures has ever produced.
The sound was really a experience which impressed me the most. To put blandly: its was a world of true emotional expression and was simple yet untouchable, to be simplistic and just call it beautiful would not be wrong but still make it a disfavor, and to be honest a could not even describe the feelings of the music even if i where to use a thousand words. I normally listen classical music, but i never felt it which such an intensity and storm of emotion like the this anime did. Chopin has become living every time i listen to him.
The characters where a bit of a disappointment, but is mostly for the lack of importance that they made in the show. But Kaori and Kousei where so relatable and fantastic that i not yet sure on how i would try to formulate a description without spoiling anything big, so i will leave it be.
And as you can read, i love this anime. Even with its big problem( which i am still very frustrated about) i felt so euphoric and amazed that almost forgot the issues.
Now go out and watch it! maybe it will bring out the colors of life that you never thought existed, or forgot about.
