Suisei no Gargantia is one of my all-time favorite anime.

I have given it a 10/10 on all aspects but this isn't exaggerating at all how much I enjoyed it. I really can't think of anything that could have been done better.

Story: After arriving on earth, the MC has to overcome the language barrier as well as the many societal and cultural differences that exist between him and the people who find him. I found it entertaining to see the "normality" of us humans through the eyes of someone from outer space. (And I thought making friends was hard for ME.)

Art: I think the art is very well done and the concept of the world is amazing. I love the designs of the characters and outifts. The expressions are easy to read and the animation didn't strike me as lazy at any point. The setting is depicted in an unconfusing way, and the water in particular is breathtakingly beautiful. I can even forgive all the fanservice they inserted because the art and animation is so enjoyable.

Sound: I normally download the soundtracks of animes I like, but I know it's especially good when listening to them again I want to cry. Maybe not everyone is as affected by this as I am. Still, excellent soundtrack.

Character: Sometimes in manga/anime I come across that one person who just annoys me so much that it sort of ruins it, even though the plot is good. Thankfully this wasn't so for this series. I liked the way all of the characters were portrayed, and none were too black and white. The main character is not perfect and the love interest is an unassuming and practical girl. (Though I should add the romance level is pretty low, which scores more points in my book.)

I am definitely glad I found this anime and decided to give it a try, it was definitely worth it. If you are unsure, it should become clear whether you'll like it or not from just the first episode. I was completely intrigued by it and was not disappointed as I continued to watch.

10/10. For what my opinion is worth, this is a series you won't regret giving a shot.
