Saekano, when I looked at it first in the anime charts, I put it in my list as a romcom harem anime to watch for winter 2015. Romcom harems have always been fun to watch. They have splendid artwork, nice comedy, some eye candy and some good ships. Anyway, Saekano is nothing less. It's a good romcom harem anime with plenty eye candy and an amazing set of characters.

Story 7/10:
The story of Aki who wants to make a dating sim. In his circle, he tries to add Kasumigaoka Utaha, a senpai who is a master at writing scenarios; Eirir Spencer, his foreign childhood friend who is a master of artwork; Mitchiru, his cousins who loves music and last but not least, the heroine Megumi Kato who he meets accidentally.
The anime isn't much focussed on how the game is made, rather it focusses on Aki's relation with the girls. The series divides into parts with a few episodes dedicated to a specific girl. That's how it goes.
But it does well to include all the characters in each episode and gives the atmosphere a harem anime should.
So, if you're going to watch this anime, watch it as a romcom harem anime, not as an anime about friends making a game since the game part only comes to serve as a catalyst for the romance to take place.

Art 9/10:
This anime has definitely done a massive impressive job in the artwork. Each and every character is amazingly designed. The backgrounds are impressive as well as the characters themselves. It's not a design that can be seen in many other anime(if I remember correctly, this bears a slight resemblance to Grisaia no Kajitsu). Anyway, it's animation and art quality are really impressive.

Sound 9/10:
The opening "Kimiiro Signal" is really nice. And the opening video is also impressive. The song is good enough to download and listen to.
The ending is "Colorful" is also nice but not as good as the opening.
But everyone's tastes are different. Maybe you'll love both of them.

Character 8/10:
The series revolves around the otaku circle of Aki, Kato, Utaha, Eriri and Mitchiru with some of them coming later in the series. Other characters, like middle school kouhais and old friends show up in the series and then disappear. Some characters you think would play an important role don't get much screen time.
Utaha, Eriri and Aki have the most screen time since they are the ones doing the most work in the series and also the ones with the most romance problems.
Aki is an otaku, who isn't embarrassed by his hobby. He wants to make a mark in the anime industry. He is already quite famous on the internet for writing reviews and these anime hobbies of him cause him to meet the other girls.
Utaha is a yandere sort of character and Eririr is the tsundere. Kato seems to be the only sane person of the circle, a little too sane if you ask me but all of them are interesting to watch and their characters are the charm of the series.
There is not much progression in the romance aspect of the characters, though the comedy comes and goes with each episode.
The past relations of the girls with Aki are explained in dedicated episodes which is always a good thing but it doesn't stray from the actual purpose of the anime which is romcom.

Enjoyment 8/10:
It was enjoyable, really enjoyable. If you're looking for a romcom harem anime with beautiful characters and some eye candy, this is the one for you. Episodes are a laugh and the personalities of the characters makes it all the better.

Overall, I'm glad I decided to watch this series. It is mostly for enjoyment and there is not much focus on the gaming aspect. But as a romcom harem, it is a perfect example.
