Coming right from Cygames is the finally released "Shingeki no Bahamut: Genesis" or as it is known in the card game rpg world, "Rage of Bahamut."

To give a little background info, "Rage of Bahamut" is a card game that is produced by Cygames that this anime series is based off. I will dive further into the anime being based off the card game, but the rpg game isn't too bad. Check it out if you have the time!

Anyways, a story of a young man helping a girl get to someplace and fight off enemies on the way there. That's the series in a nutshell and I'd say it sounds pretty generic or general for anime now, but here are my thoughts on it.

Story: 8/10

The storyline is quite simple, which allows for more wiggle room for action and humour and lots of other add-ons to make it interesting. Like I said, it's an adventure of getting someone from one place to another because of some wish the person wants. Pretty normal, but one things SnB really excels at is progress. It does not lag behind for the sake of superfluous action or forced comedy and it progresses very well.

Art: 7/10

Hmm. From a card game, I would expect a lot for art and I do have to say that from the first 2 episodes I was not very impressed by the artwork. However, it does progressively get better as they reveal more characters. The human character designs are quite normal and do not interest me much, but SnB does a fine job in detailing the demons and angels' designs. Very nice touch.

Sound: 9/10

SnB does an excellent job in sound! The opening "Existence" is very metal and rock which just resonates how this anime is an action/adventure! What really draws me in is the OSTs in battle. Now this is one of the epitomes of SnB. Very nice OSTs that compliment the battle scenes and action scenes.

Character: 8/10

Original is not a word I would use, yet they are unique! Their designs are okay in terms of unoriginality, but their traits are what enhances them the most! Very dynamic characters and very big cast full of interesting creatures! Yes, there are angels, dragons, demons, dragoons, zombies, and many others that may sound staple, but there are qualities that make them undeniably great.

Enjoyment: 9/10

The first 2 episodes made me question my interest, but after the 4/5th, I was happy to say that i liked it and I will continue watching it. Every episode has its own uniqueness to it, so it does not just copy one episode or just recap everything.

Parallel to Game

This is where I want to point out my opinion. RoB and SnB is in the medieval times of 3 realms, humans, gods, and demons! However, I was not expecting a somewhat new cast and even a different "mechanism." I was hoping for some mechanisms (like Holy Wars/Evolution/Castle Crushers) to be incorporated formally. Nevertheless, the anime was not disappointing and is still well done!

Overall: Very nice anime with a sluggish start. The episodes get better and the most recent episode (episode 7) was just amazing and I would say the apex of the last 7 episodes. I recommend this to people who play Rage of Bahamut (free to play in the App Store!) or people who enjoy watching action/adventure/thrillers as well as rpg-players since the setting is really rpg-like! 8/10 in total! Give SnB some more love guys! :D
