When i look for a anime to watch that makes me use my brain critically (critical thinking), i usually don't find one that is entertaining, or sometimes it is but the plot is so complicated i don't know what the k! is going on. Looks like Ghost in the shell proved me wrong. This anime is not only understandable enough to not make you lose your head, but the way everything in this anime is linked all together is in a way a masterpiece.
First of all the graphics and visual effects for this anime the year it came out( 2002) is very well done. All the characters in this anime is very interesting, especially the main ones. Each character has a unique character trait or way about them that makes them different from the others. All the characters are excellently developed and so well at that, that you get lost in their story when they have the spot light on them.
The one thing about this anime that had me surprised was that i saw less combat that i expected it to have, which was not a bad thing because the other aspects of this anime was very important. But when there are action scenes, it is almost captivating to watch, with the amazing music track and the excellent combats modules this anime surpasses just being good but it is awesome.
The way Ghost in the Shell portrays how Cybernetics would be in the future will be almost makes it feel like that would be the destiny of human kind, because of the way the anime makes everything so logical and realistic.
The story of this anime basically shows you how the lines between machines and being human are blurred so much that being a cyborg or having some kind of cybernetic implant or augmentation was becoming the status quo, and the story follows the main character Motoko kusanagi who contemplates about her humanity and through out the series searches for a reason for that one purpose.
The overall story-line of this anime is excellent and even with the episodes that don't quit seem to follow the plot actually helps you understand everything that happens at the end. The story-line is very interesting and may be quite a brain teaser to follow on but is straight forward enough to understand. With twist and strange phenomena taking place with in the plot this anime does a A+ job with giving their audience a different experience, which is better than the norm.
To conclude overall this anime was great and it had me thinking differently when i finished watch it thus showing the positive impact it can have on a person way of thinking. To me its one of those must see anime before you die kind of way, i enjoyed it a lot and would recommend it the anyone but mostly for those who believe they are mature to understand it.
