NOTE: This review includes Kokoro Connect: Michi Random (Ep. 14-17).

This anime sparked my interest with two reasons:
1. Inaba Himeko did very well in Best Girl Contest. It's my quest to find out why.
2. I like to see what happens with such phenomena.

How was the anime then?

Story:

What I liked the most is that it touches on the psychological dilemma or scar of the characters a lot. I mean, this anime's purpose is to investigate what would happen if you faced similar (though unrealistic) situations in life. Kokoro Connect, as it's name states, is about the connections between the five Cultural Research Club members' heart: Friendship, trust, and love. One cannot break their strong bonds even though how Heartseed uses his power to make them crumble, hence getting maximum entertainment, nor can the triangular relationship between Taichi, Iori and Himeko break them. What's more, such phenomena actually helps them to learn instead of hurting them to the worse extent possible. That's what makes the plot valuable to watch. A plot similar to Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu. 8/10.

Art:

The only problem I find is during the OPs. With the scene where the characters stand on the bridge, their appearances went bizarre mode. Nevertheless, it resembled that of K-ON!. 9/10.

Sound:

The OPs aren't bad, but I don't know why they just don't give me that "Kokoro" feeling. 8/10.

Character:

It's disappointing that the male leads, both Taichi and Aoki, lacked the development they should have, leading to the problem that it's the girls who suffered the most. All three female leads are VERY moe and distinct though, and the characterization was done well on these three. 7/10.

Enjoyment:

That goes back to the two reasons I watched this anime in the first place. Both were achieved. Himeko IS moe and the story was satisfying. 10/10.

Overall:

Kokoro Connect could have been better if the male leads were developed better. 8/10.
