I have not watched many animes, but this is probably one of the best things ive seen on video. The story doesnt care whos watching, it shows you what it is as if it were a true story. Its never slow and you will feel the prodigiousness of every episode. The art seems very old school but I love it, it fits in with the theme of the show. The music is hypnotizing and engrossing. The character development very well done. I recommend this show to every one who wants to see a good story, hear beautiful music and see excellent art, except for the squeamish. More than anything Berserk has blood and violence, but not in a "oh come on!" kind of way. Guts might seem at times to be way too powerful but thats part of the story, he is the main character, the hero.
