So Ergo Proxy is probably more suited towards those who have watched a lot of anime and can appreciate different aspects of the darker, psychological genre. To the people who plan to watch this:

1. Be prepared for very unique and beautiful art. The animators in Ergo Proxy pretty much discarded the stereotypical large-eyes, bright colors drawing style of most anime and substituted it for more realistic and subtly beautiful art.

2. Don't get depressed easily. This anime is mostly gray and black (expect for Re-L's eyeshadow). However, that also makes the rare moments with bright color stand out even more. You'll see.

3. Don't get frustrated. Some of the characters in the story may frustrate the viewer a LOT, but grit your teeth and pull through. The ending is worth it.

4. Don't watch this if you don't think you can handle it. This anime has a lot of psychological undertones and is honestly pretty dark and controversial. If you're a die-hard lover of romcoms and cannot handle gore or that kind of "stuff" then I suggest you stay away from Ergo Proxy.

5. Enjoy! Although everything I just wrote sounds really depressing, Ergo Proxy is a must-watch for the seasoned viewer. The elements of mystery and mindblowing story really draw you in, and like I said, the ending is worth the twenty-something episode wait. (I watched the whole series in one day... oops).
