I first found Glasslip on this website when I was scrolling through recomdations of similar animes to the one I was watching. I clicked into it and read reviews wanting to know whether it was worth watching or not, to my surprise most of the reviews were very negative. The reason I was surprised was that the summary that was given made the anime seem so amazing. So, I decided to watch it anyways and my thoughts on it were it's not as bad as everyone says it is. I think that everyone had high expectations for it since it was from P.A. Works, so when it wasn't as good as other productions of P.A. Works, they thought it was completely horrible. Well, my opinion on it is that it's not the best anime I saw but it's defininitely not deserving all the hates it's getting.

Story 6/10
The story itself was great but the way they had expressed it has put some downsides to it. It can be a little confusing to watch though. They put on a flashback in one of the last episodes which was a fragment of the future that seemed like a flashback. I was really confused until someone said it was a fragment of the future down in the comments section. Lots of people had said that the story was really slow in development and had only gone through one summer vacation. I quite liked the fact that the story was slow, it allows me to know more detail and discover about their lives in their final summer vacation.

Characters 7/10
I loved the fact that the bunch of friends were all different and yet almost always get along with each other let alone fall in love with another person from the same group. Touko is the daughter of a glass artisan and is pretty talented at glass-blowing. What makes her interesting she can glas-blow, there are not many people that can master the art of glass-blowing and obviously she has. The fact she is always clueless and says "ehhh" is kind of funny. Kakeru is our typical loner guy, one that wants to be alone all the time until he meets Touko. He sleeps in a tent which makes other think that he is weird. Up until middle school he followed his mum traveling around the world as his mother is a pianist and does world tours. Throughout the travell he has done with his mother, he thinks that when meets someone, he hurts them, so when meets Touko he thinks that he will hurt her. The rest of the characters are great as well but if I talk about them, this review would be too long.

Art 8/10
I really loved the way that the art was drawn and Touko's hair was absolutely beautiful. I can draw anime/manga styled drawings but I doubt I can ever draw as good as that. It may not be the best art I have seen drawn in animes but it's definitely not the worst. Let's just appreciate the fact that they have spent so much time drawing the scenes and characters.

Animation 5/10
This anime's worst point is it's animation. There were so many freeze frames where they were talking but there mouths weren't moving and stayed in the same scene for a long time. This is the one thing I don't like about Glasslip.

Sound 9/10
This is definitely the strongest point of Glasslip. The opening was part of the reason why I watched the anime. I loved the soothing melody and it was somehow catchy. The ending song was not as great but the upbeat music kind of lightend up the dramatic things that happen in the anime. The OSTs were great, I loved the classical piano music that was included.

Enjoyment 7/10
I really enjoyed this anime, it gives me the feeling of something new and unique. I was never really in to supernatural things but this anime has inspired me to watch more supernatural themed animes. There is one thing that I hated about this anime, the fact that the ending left so many questions to the person watching, making the ending inconclusive, but look on the bright side, the creator might of thought that leaving questions means that there are many possible endings, there are no limitations to our imagination, so let's just appreciate the creators thoughtfulness.

Overall 7/10
This anime is not bad at all as a whole. I recommend this anime even though it is hated by so many people. Think about it, if you hadn't seen all these reviews where Glasslip is hated and instead read many reviews where Glasslip is recommended, you wouldn't have the impression of it being bad. Just try watching it, it may be good, it may be bad, it doesn't really matter as it is only 13 episodes. If you don't watch because you think it may be horrible, you may have missed out something you might find amazing. You've got nothing to lose by watching an anime that is not so great, I say just give it a go. Well, that's just my opinion.
