Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann is hands down the best Anime I've ever seen, Its a Gainax Anime, and most of em are very good except for a very certain mecha anime. I found it really enjoyable. EVERYTHING in this anime is epic. And it is quite sad at some points Probably the ending for Yoko seeing as how shes lonely and all Poor girl end up all lonely its just really sad. Anyway this anime is a masterpiece and is growing in popularity quite a bit. so check this anime out.
