This was a very good anime. while i was a bit reluctant to watch this at first, it drew me in pretty quickly. not to try and make a spoiler, but the first montage of light killing off criminals will forever be stuck in my memory as one of the coolest scenes in any media i have ever watched. i remember getting a chill down my spine as the scene progressed.

characters are a bit predictable, but overall they are designed very well. L is one of the greatest characters of all time, he is the only character that will constantly surprise you with his methods and actions, very fun to watch him indeed.
the story is well written, though some things seem to be thrown in randomly, it all comes to a close very well, you can not ask for a better ending.

overall, i certainly recommend this anime to anyone who is not offended by a little death.. you will love this show, period.
