I had this anime recommended to me by many people, most of whom has already finished the series so were fully aware of the storyline. When I first started it, I could tell I would love it, the storyline is typical of sports anime as Hinata (the main character) sees volleyball on the TV and aspires to be as good as the professional players.

It has pretty much every sports anime trope I can think of, the apathetic black haired character who is amazing at sports, the character with a strange hair colour, the busty attractive sports manager, the sports obsessed protagonist yet Haikyuu!! still sits at the top of my favourite animes. The character diversity in Haikyuu!! is actually one of the best bits about it, being a lot of teams there are also a lot of characters and lots of diversity, this show is absolutely hilarious due to this and also serious at the same time.

One thing that I didn't like at all was the animation, I simply think the style is bad and do not like it at all, however that is probably me being irrational and picky, the animation itself it really well done and I love the way it switches at some points in important matches.

The voice acting is very well done with lots of diversity of voices which is a real problem in some animes however I did think that Hinata sounded slightly too childlike.

Overall I would definitely recommend this anime to anyone who asks as the good points totally overrule the not-so-good. I enjoyed this anime a lot and it has a lighter touch than most sports anime.
