Story:
The story started off a bit slow and I have to admit I wasn't really that hooked onto the whole thing at first but as it went on, it was amazing. It got better and better as it went on and the story had so many twists and turns that you had to finish it! There were so many questions I had to ask throughout; for example, the mystery of Celty's head. The story had many different mini stories, about the mysterious Black rider, the Slasher, the mysterious groups of the Dollars and the Yellow Scarves - and each and every one of these kept you hooked and wanting to find out more. The second arc did kind of lag on a bit and yes was a little anti-climatic, however referring to the news of the 2nd season in 2015, I hope it will pick itself up and answer many questions that weren't revealed even at the end, such as what the hell is Izaya going to do with Celty's head? Overall, the story was well constructed and got you hooked right up to the end.
Characters:
Now this deserves a 10/10. This is my favourite aspect of the whole show. Each of the characters were well developed as every episode was from one of their perspectives, and it was interesting to find out about their perspective of things and their pasts. The show did not fail to present most of the characters (even ones that didn't seem that important) so well and really developed a few of them, especially the main ones obviously. A lot of development of the three mains, Mikado, Kida and Anri. Each of these characters had their own dark secrets that the others did not know about and it was interesting to see the story unravel from this. I liked that all of the characters were all linked in some way and that in such a big city a lot of them knew each other, all of their stories eventually fit into one. There's such a large cast of characters it's hard to keep up but each of them were VERY unique and this made the story even better. If you're an anime fan that loves to watch them for characters, this is the anime for you.

Animation:
The animation is really good in this anime and so unique. It has a unique and distinct animation where they leave all of the 'background people' in grey so you can focus on and easily pick out the main characters. The character drawings are also very unique, detailed and a nice style.
Sound:
The soundtrack is AWESOME. The characters each have their own themes and it goes very well with their type of character, the background music is relaxing and very slice-of-life as well as being thrilling at other times. The openings are also very good and catchy, the first being my favourite:D Such a good tune.
Overall - this anime is definitely worth watching. Don't give up on the first few episodes as it can be a bit slow paced however the story gets SO much more interesting and gets you very hooked. A 9/10!
