Similar to Gurren Lagann, this anime runs off pure enjoyment. However, it is pretty bad at being serious. We don't really remember the parts where Aikuro dumps a bunch of exposition like it's the bloody Ice Bucket Challenge. We remember the part where Satsuki just kicked a certain someone's buttocks. Also there was this one scene...in a bathtub...hang on I'm gonna drink more bleach.
It's hard to take seriously but dang does it entertain!

While the artwork for the characters, even when it makes Tumblr start rolling, looks pretty good. But this series seems to say "up yours" to any sort of fluid animation. Even in fight scenes it seems the animation team was cutting several corners. Though some moments, like the one butt-kicking scene, and one scene with a flying dagger,and the pur...*drinks bleach*...excuse me..were very well animated. But most of the time it seems like a slideshow, even if it does seem to fit in well

Great soundtrack. Makes anything seem epic. When you're taking a dump, the soundtrack will make it awesome. When you're taking a final, you're saving the world. When you're taking a bath...*more bleach*
The over the top soundtrack goes well with the over the top nature of the show. Now only if they spent this much effort animating.

We have a solid group of mains. Ryuko is alright. She has an intriguing backstory, even if she seems to go MAXIMUM EDGE a bit too often. Mako is passable as comic relief, but actually can be taken seriously on occasion, which is an A in my book. The real meat is Satsuki. If the story was from Satsuki's POV, it would be at least 19.99 percent cooler. Eh has a calm and cool personality and doesn't afraid of anything, despite the fact that [SPOILERS]
The Elite Four are excellent companions for Satsuki, and have great personalities and solid backstories.
Ragyo and Nui are threatening villains, even if they're a bit farfetched. Their rapiness does get very old after a while *shudders*
Let's just say Aikuro (aka Exposition Bin) got annoying and only is notable for "nudisto, BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEETCH"
