The show looks really pretty : colorful character design, interesting yet recognizable mobile suits, beautiful environment...... The animation is smoother than what you typically get from an anime tv series, which helps the show stand out a lot. The FX (explosions, thruster flames etc) are of high quality too, which remind me of what we saw in Gundam Unicorn. But......
The writing is so weird !!! It seems like Mr Tomino Yoshiyuki hasn't improved much on his dialogue writing since 1979. His characters tend to do way too much exposition, even for an anime. It very often gets confusing as I'm not sure if the character is talking to himself (explaining what's going on to the viewers) or talking to other characters. Character interactions are often awkward as their conversations tend to lack a sense of pace and are thus hard to keep up with. The characters are bizzarely developed and just don't feel right......
Like I said, Char's Counterattack all over again, which is frankly quite disappointing for me.
