In my opinion Wolf Children or Ookami kodomo no Ame to Yuki is one of the best Anime films of all time. It is on the same level as Hayao Miyazaki's works in my opinion.
Story 10/10
The story is absolutely outstanding one of my favourite stories from any anime.
It involves a woman who falls in love, leading to unique children. Later there is a truly amazing representation of a farming community up near the mountains. It is a thought provoking film, which takes you through a whole range of emotions from laughter to sadness. It will make you cry at least once, but you will also laugh a lot.
Character Design and Artwork
The character design is on par with Studio Ghibli's. The only anime with a better art style in my opinion is Clannad. The design of Ame changes accordingly as he develops, as does Yuki. The jokes made on the fact they are part wolf and part human weren't subtle but made me laugh lots. I also like the fact that the wolf Hana falls in love with was never named, adding more mystery to his back story.
The soundtrack to this anime is extremely well done it is so powerful and changes your emotions perfectly. It makes you happy when something good happens and cry when necessary.
Overall I enjoyed this film thoroughly and would recommend it to anyone and everyone
