This is arguably one of the best animes I've ever watched. Shinsekai Yori tells a story that completely blew away my expectations. To be honest, the description didn't interest me in the slightest but I decided to give it a try anyways due to how bored I was. As I started watching the first few minutes, I was already drawn in by that intro and kept me wondering about this world that is introduced as the future 1000 years from now. This story has a lot build up, so it starts a bit slow but picks up right before big events which kept me on the edge of my seat. Another thing I'd like to mention is that even though it is set 1000 years from now, it still seems very believable from the situations that occur to how humanity chooses to deal with it. The story has a powerfull message it sends in the ending (which I shall not spoil) that gets you thinking and sticks with you after you finish watching.
