Mushoku Tensei is the kind of story you read when you want to escape from reality for a bit. It's a wish fulfillment fantasy in the ultimate sense.
Story 9/10
The story is well-written with good pacing and interesting twists and turns. Some parts of the story drag on a bit with very obvious foreshadowing with a "reveal" at the end, but these parts aren't long compared to the rest of the story.
Art 8/10
Not really relevant seeing how it's a novel, but the cover pages looked nice I suppose?
Character 8/10
The characters are an interesting bunch, at some times being well-written and well-developed, and other times being a bit crude. The main character in particular has some pretty nasty habits that really detracted from the story, but when he's not engaging in his "activities" he manages to stay an interesting character. There's a large cast of characters that are, for the most part, interesting and well-developed, although at times they have some weakly written aspects that are obviously written for wish-fulfillment which can get really annoying.
Enjoyment 8/10
Although the weirdness of some of the aspects of this series turned me off a bit, overall the story is a good read that kept me hooked.
Overall 8/10
Decent, solid read as long as you can get past or enjoy some of the more perverted things the main character does. Some of it drags on, but it's not really an issue.
