Goddamn was I missing on something. Now I don't think that Zankyou No Terror is a masterpiece but it certainly is something every anime enthusiast who would like something deep and highly entertaining, should watch.
Beginning with the story, I think is a really interesting one, with all the terrorism stuff and even some aspects that reminded me of Death Note, my all time favorite anime. The ending is something really special, I didn't see it coming and it was pretty heartwarming.
Let's talk about the characters here, starting with the protagonists, Nine and Twelve, which are actually the terrorists themselves. I didn't expect them to be so enjoyable. Now, I didn't found them to be the badass dudes that I though they were going to be, they are pretty badass but the human aspects of them were the ones I didn't expect from these two to be so enjoyable. So yeah, really good main leads.
There's this female character, named Lisa, which I didn't hate or anything but I didn't like her that much either. She's just… there the whole time. She could've been handled better. Another cool character here is this member of the police named Shibazaki, he is really damn smart and a lot of fun seeing him deduce sh*t. Overall, I found the characters really enjoyable and I liked every single one of them. Well, except a certain female character (not Lisa)…
I found the music really damn good, I wouldn't categorize it as memorable but it is really good at setting the tone for the scenes and all that. Though I'm not a fan of the opening song, I can say that the rest of the soundtrack is really good. The voice acting I found to be pretty good as well. Nothing else to say here.
The animation. Oh God the animation. The phrase fitting here is: "top notch". I mean, this looks like a motion picture! It was really impressive and of course, a lot of fun. The designs themselves, well… The environments look excellent, and the explosions and those kind of effects too. The character design… well is this kind of realistic design that I have to get used to but I'm sure that's just me.
Overall, Zankyou No Terror is a pretty awesome anime with a lot of cool and deep stuff. The characters were great, the story was good, the animation was awesome,... you should definitely give it a try.
