Mixed Feelings
Golden Time provides that normal rom-com anime we have but rather in a unique way - college setting, female lead is not your typical -dere (i.e. Toradora!), and others. But rather, from my own opinions, it has its own flaws, such as how you would be dissapointed if you see the last episode.

STORY - 3
The reason why the story was just that low was the anime left many questions unanswered. And, they put attention to Banri's tragedy instead of the comic part of the anime. Some events were too shallow, that you would feel that almost every episode is just a filler. The anime brought up an outstanding and unique flow, but the progression of the story feels like only from the first few episodes and the last three episodes. In my opinion, you would really end up disappointed with how the story will end.

ART - 10
The graphics were astounding if you can say. Brightly colored and quite a match for other anime released in that year.

SOUND - 9
Music (all OP/ED) were sung by Horie Yui. I actually liked the sounds but what I only add in my music collection were the first OP and ED. The second OP and ED were fine too yet I got too overboard with them. Too lively for me to handle.

CHARACTER - 5
As with the story progression, characters were pretty "not in character." Development was too shallow too. The only characters I liked were 2D-kun and Nana (they were very cool but I was disappointed with 2D-kun as his role was never too significant for the rest of the anime).

ENJOYMENT - 8
Some rom-com anime fans will also like it in the beginning but if you were to expect a great ending, I wouldn't spoil the moment.

Overall, I give it a 6. The anime could be pretty dull and not as tragic like Clannad or Angel Beats but if you are a fan of or like tragic anime, rom-com, unique settings, childhood friends cliche or any other anime that were produced by J.C. Staff, you can always try to watch Golden Time.
