I have been trying to get through this anime because I was told that Clannad was really captivating. My friends told me it is really sad and that I would be bawling within a few episodes. After 12 episodes I can say that this is one of the worst things I've ever seen. Nothing has happened so far besides uninteresting characters doing uninteresting things. More things would have happened in Naruto than Clannad.

All the characters have a ridiculous amount of space between their eyes and makes it unpleasing to look at.

In this sea of garbage, my only solace is that the music fits the surrounding and the voice acting works with the characters.

I don't think I have ever come across such awful characters in watching anime or live action shows. Every character is so boring and unbelievable it astounds me.
We have our main character Okazaki Tomoya, who could not be more boring than a sack of potatoes. Holding true to the title of delinquent, he skips school... wait is that it? He goes around and gets a lame harem full of other boring chicks that no one wants to hang out with and helps them by... whatever he does.
We have Nagisa, who... is the main love interest for some reason, but other than that does nothing besides get the ball rolling for Okazaki to help people. She also likes a big dango family, whatever that means.
We have Kotomi who is a genius but lacks any and all social skills and when Okazaki is able to get her to introduce herself to people she has this awkward line she keeps repeating, believe it! No but seriously it's pretty bad. And staying true to the whole harem genre, she does not Okazaki from the past but conveniently he does not remember.
We have Ryou and Kyou, their names are so similar I never remember which one is which but one of them keeps hitting Okazaki with her moped and he seems to be perfectly okay with it and the other one is shy, just like the 2 other shy chicks in Okazaki's harem.

So yeah, this anime is pretty bad, how it's so highly rated, I'll never know.
