From the director of Cowboy Bebop and Samurai Champloo comes a new story from Watanabe, Shinichiro, "Terror in Resonance". Admittedly I was quite skeptical as to how this show would turn out. From the beginning a lot of questions are raised and a build up from the first episode commences. The story for the most part isn't very original, it has a strange background but nothing unique. If you've seen a lot of shows or anime in general you will understand what I mean by that. It does try to create new ideas into a common theme but it's really nothing fresh. I seen that somebody compared this to "Eden of The East" which would probably be the best comparison. Definitely more emotion than Eden but very similar in many aspects. The pacing is what somewhat disappointed me. A lot more of this story could have been flushed out in the 11 episodes of Terror in Resonance. The artwork in this show features dark colors and a simple character design. It wasn't visually stunning but I enjoyed it because it fit the tone of the story. The music of Terror was fantastic. Had it not been for this soundtrack composed by Yoko Kanno a lot of emotion would have been lost. The OP and ED are so good that you won't even want to skip them. This show could not have been as good as it was without it. Believe me when I say that the first couple of episodes are not the best but what unfolds is a mystery that leaves you wanting more. Terror in Resonance may not be the best anime of the season but it certainly is worth the watch. I give it an 8/10
