This Review Is My Masterpiece, My Design, Gaze Upon My Mona Lisa . . .

THE BEGINNING:
Watching Ergo Proxy is like picking up your 'to-go' order from your favorite Asian food restaurant, getting back to the privacy of your own home so you can gobble it down without any unnecessary onlookers quickly becomes your first priority as soon as the bag is put in your hand. Much like the way I demolished Ergo Proxy in one sitting (literally one sitting, I didn't even get up once to go pee)
Now you've finished your meal and you pull out your fortune cookie from the bag, . . . . . you're excited because this is the good fortune cookie brand, not the one that tastes like a stale tortilla chip dragged through honey. You crack open your cookie, but alas you see no fortune. You feel betrayed and lied too. You grew up knowing that when you crack the cookie you get the little piece of paper that eventually becomes pocket lint after 3 washes in your jeans. But today your lord has forsaken you, NO FUTURE POCKET LINT FOR YOU!

THE MIDDLE TO ENDING:
This same feeling of utter betrayal and loss is the basic premises for Proxy, the anime version of an empty fortune cookie. Where what you grew up knowing to be true is turned upside down, growing fears and subconscious suspicions are revealed to be true. Emptiness, destruction, Isolation, endless cycles of pain and loss, all because of someone else's decision to not do their job correctly.

THE VERY END:
You pop the whole cursed fortune cookie in your mouth and begin to chew, making a mental note that this is what broken dreams taste like, and never to forget that taste . . . .BUT WAIT!!!! You realize the cookie actually does taste funny and you spit out something with a funny texture . . . . . . . .
YOUR MISSING FORTUNE!! Right when you were about to give up all hope, you open the microscopic, now soggy paper to take a look, it says;
"You Will . . . " but the rest of the sentence is illegible sue to smearing ink. You are about to fall again and sadden over what you could have had if things were done differently, but then you stop yourself, and remember how worse the feeling of no fortune was. You look at your "You Will" fortune and realize it's better than any other fortune in the world, because it is left open to your interpretation, it is whatever you want it to be.

The act of creation through observation . . . .I am not even remotely exaggerating or embellishing facts, that internal emotional roller coaster journey you and I just went through is pretty much EXACTLY what it is like to watch Ergo Proxy. Sure to someone only watching me on the surface I look like a hungry idiot who almost ate a piece of paper, But to you, . . . . who observed beneath the surface and saw a whole array of emotions, realizations, and a sort of Revolution and/or Revelation take place.
You know, therefore you are. . . . . . . going to check fortune cookies twice from now on!
