I'll start this review for Jojo's Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders by saying i have not seen the other Jojo seasons or read the manga volumes ether and had absolute zero clue what it was going to be about, I know that's stupid of me but i still enjoyed it.
this review may contain spoilers but i'll try my best not to spoil too much.
Story 8/10
The story centers around Jotaro Kujo, a badass 17 year old delinquent (who look like he's a 23 year old) who is possessed by an 'evil spirit' so he keeps himself imprisoned to avoid any casualties, he is then visited by his mother and grandfather, Joseph Joestar (who looks like everything Indiana Jones should of been) and Joseph's good friend Avdol. Joseph explains that the 'evil spirit' is called a 'Stand', monsters that can take any form (such as a flaming bird, a knight in armor or even a micro sized parasite) who give their masters a big boost in power, anyway Jotaro's mother suddenly gains a Stand but causes her to get severely ill and the cause of this is the awakening of Dio (the antagonist) who i believe was on the previous Jojo season i really don't know much about him sorry. The gang set out for Egypt to find and defeat Dio, they meet friends on the way and fight really BIZARRE people also this is only part 1 it stops as soon as they get to Egypt so the ending is pretty ... meh ...
Art 9/10
I loved the art style to this anime its very comicy.. if thats a style... or a word.. it was unique and brand new to me i've never seen any other with a similar art style like it and was perfect for the anime. (Almost)
Sound 7/10
I don't know what to review for the sound, the sound was.. just... yeah.. but the opening ost was good to listen to and i couldn't help but laugh at the song 'Walk like an Egyptian' which is the ending ost. Seriously the last song i thought they would play for a japanese anime.
Character 7/10
The seasons group Jotaro, Joseph, Avdol, Kakyoin and Polnareff were... interesting each with unique personalities. This anime doesn't show much development like training to gain more strength it was just "I'm a villain here to kill you" a fight starts then Jotaro repeatedly punches their face into submission or something along those lines. You only see Dio a few times forever alone in his playboy mansion sending freaks to kill Jotaro and others and thats about the only air time for Dio. Poor guy.
Enjoyment 9/10
I really enjoyed Stardust Crusaders the fight scenes were good to watch some were more like ass whippings than fights and of course the out of it comedy were good for a laugh or two.
But there were scenes i was confused about like how the characters are harmed (Stabbed, shot or even have their ankle sliced off or half-way through getting eaten alive) they just dust themselves off and move on.
Overall 8/10
Overall i thought this was a very good anime to watch, basic story, great art, good op and ed osts to listen to, the character development may need work, enjoyable battle scenes. I would recommend this to people who love shounen or battle anime or just an anime with muscular men fighting.
