I'm a sucker for love stories and comedy. I enjoy hearing the touching moments between two characters, who gradually get closer. I also enjoy random scenes in between those romantic scenes that make you laugh for one reason or another. So Clannad was right up my alley. It was a fantastic season! The characters, all detailed enough for you to understand who they are, but not to get too lost within flashbacks. But everything does have faults. I personally disliked the girl and the robot moments. They were kind of a throw off for me, I realize the tie-in it has with the series, but still just kind of bored me and had me impatiently waiting to see the next scene. Also, a majority of the people who watched the series, said this season was fairly slow and took a long time to progress. I didn't notice this myself, but I can see where they're coming from. I did see it being slow, but the comedy kept me into it.
The comedy itself, is fairly great. Its just the spontaneous moments of ridiculousness after someone saying something offensive, like the math books from Kyou randomly, that just keep going in the distance, or hit a wall so hard it leaves a dent. Stuff like that in a fairly realistic world really made me crack up.
I found the most interesting and appealing parts for me, were the moments Sunohara and the extras. They were just little tidbits of random, and i loved it. I would recommend this to whoever likes a fantastic love story. It's as simple as that. The universe wasn't anything special, and the art is weird, since the girls all have freakishly large eyes but the story is a masterpiece.
