Reviews

Well this is my first review and I watched this short anime with no real expectations and without reading any reviews, it turned out that I enjoyed this anime very much and I would recommend it to anyone who is sick of the usual rom-com or adventure story.

Story: 8
I thought the story although not amazing; was on the other hand very unique Ive never seen an anime like it and I am very pleased by it, first of all you have a traveling merchant which doesn't sound exciting whatsoever next you have a wolf god of the harvest or something silly like that. Anywho we're mixing it up by throwing that in there. After a little dispute with the wolf girl god person they end up travling together, doesn't sound like the kind of story that could stick me to my seat but it turned out to be more than meets the eye.

After a few episodes the show turns into something different something that a younger audience or the type of viewers that don't like much dialog with their anime sandwich would be turned off by. I found out in actuallity this was an interesting concept. Alot of Dialog about economics and trading. But for people who do want a bit of action with their anime, there is a few episodes where the action actually put me at the edge of the seat and I was worried about the characters.

Art: 8
The art is not amazing by any means but its not terrible either, it gets the job done some people dont like it and at times I found the shape of the peoples faces to be kind of annoying, for example at times I thought Horo was cute and then at others times I just thought she was weird looking, maybe it was just me.
And for a relatively second-class studio, I must say, Imagin has done surprisingly well making this series look good. The scenery in particular is beautiful, and makes the world so much more vivid and immersive.

Sound: 8
I actually didn't know until looking at the credits that Jun Fukuyama was doing the voice for Lawrence, it turns out that his voice is very good and I didn't get the impression I was watching Code Geass at all. Jon did a swell job at making Lawrence sound real, and at the times when emotions would show I felt that he did a great job making it seem realistic.

Ami Koshimizu on the other hand had a recognizable performance and the whole time I listened to her speak I couldn't help but think of big boobed Kallen form Code Geass.

The music was simple it seemed but it did a good job of setting the mood for the story and also I enjoyed the music from the op, although I felt that the ending music was a bit odd I never listened to it more than once just to listen.

Character: 9

The Characters were pretty well developed for a 13 episode show.
Lawrence appeared to be a normal guy doing a normal trade and he was a rather boring guy which was sort of apparent in the first episode. Of course as the characters develop a bit Horo does a good job of bring out his fun side along with being a fun character herself who always tried to keep the show amusing when it started to get dull.

The relationship between the two was realistic at least it seemed so to me via the way they were arguing and constantly teasing each other it reminded me of a realistic thing and that's most of what kept the show great.

Other than Lawrence and Horo there wasn't any special recurring characters.

Overall enjoyment: 10

Truthfully I found this show to be extremely enjoyable, I would recommend it to anyone who has the patience to watch it develop personally I watched it all between a two day period and I only stopped because I got tired in the first place. The ending left a lot to be desired but obviously since there is a second season coming those desires will hopefully be fulfilled. Yup Im excited for the second season.
