Normally, I hate all animes because they end and when they do, the endings don't leave me satisfied. In the case of Shinsekai Yori, I was still sad to see it go, but the ending set to rest what the series was trying to achieve from the beginning.
We've all had those animes we have playing in the background. We can start the video, leave it playing and go do something else, and come back to find that we could still follow what happened in the time we were gone. Shinsekai Yori is not one of those animes. It has a complex storyline that is driven by its complexity. The character development is an amazing process throughout this entire series and by the time its over, you'll be sad that it ended. Its been 2 years since the anime was first created and it has not lost its splendor. The art takes a traditional manga artwork approach and the sound is very nice. The score compliments the setting and there is one song that is repetitive but you'll find it necessary to the setting. Throughout the story it'll leave you believing you've got the story, but then it'll take a twist and leave you begging for more.
Shinsekai Yori has become one of my most favorite animes of all time and I hope it appeals to whoever else shall read this review and watch this masterpiece.
