I could write essay's on my #1 anime, spending hours discussing the beauty of this sadly little known gem, however I am just going to say watch it. I have many favorites I would recommend, but Tatami Galaxy is the only show I believe EVERYONE should see. The show moves at a blistering speed and I would not fault anyone for having to pause ever so often to take in language and visual art, each frame of which, while not technically complex, is just dripping with flavor and life. If there is any crowd that I would say might connect with Tatami, it would be young adults who are either in school or just trying to decipher their role in life, but anyone who appreciates good storytelling is in for a treat.
