Firstly, I would like to point out that most of the reviews on here are all negative and it's understandable. Secondly, I apologize beforehand if you find any spelling mistakes or wrong names. I'm very bad at remembering names..

Yes the first season was better but the second season had some strong moments too.

STORY:
Well the story itself at first is a little jumpy, we don't see it truly come to light until episode 6. The main focus is development of Rikka's and Yuuta's love life and the Chunnibyou syndrome. For one I actually got emotional in the last few episodes because I felt that "Yes I want more, but it feels so pure" You wanted more lovey-dovey stuff? Go watch something else because this is demonstrating-for me- pure highschool love. And even the characters themselves hint at this, such as the dirty jokes between Nibutani and Dekomodi about "higher contract" etc. As for other plots in the anime, It was quite humorous to watch and to be honest I was enjoying this thoroughly and marathoned it in less than 12 hours~
Yes, basically the story was mainly focused on developing, maybe slowly-true, the love life but it is sweet to see that "Yes they did truly choose each other" it was strengthening that Contract.
Now, one thing that bugged me constantly was the forced Love triangle.
Okay, bringing in a new character is fare and simple but I felt it was very forced. Let me explain in characters.

CHARACTERS:
I've always loved the characters in Chuunibyou they are all so cute and unique and the voice seiyuus match the characters perfectly. My favourite character is Dekomori and in this 2nd season I became even more in love with Rikka and Nibutani. Rikka is just adorable and you can't deny it, she really puts out her effort that she really does love Yuuta's and that strong connection is what makes her such a powerful female lead.
Nibutani always made me laugh in this season, her way of denying her Mori Summer and always trying to keep cool really brought a smile to my face Everytime.Dekomori was as cute and mischievous and rowdy as ever and I love that about her. Characters that are upbeat always hit top marks with me.
The other characters all have a role to play in the show, yes even Ishikki who is always forgotten~
But now, I want to talk about the new character.
The magician devil girl Sophia or her earthly name Shichimiya.
I did not like this character. For one, like I said before the love triangle with her cutting into Rikka and Yuuta's love life made me agonized Everytime she interfered.
She also did not feel like a very strong character. I could tell just by her laugh that she was lieing to herself.
But this is still very human as is all of this anime, it's what the essence of Chuunibyou is-"Escaping Reality".
And yes she did want just that as did any other of the 8th grade syndrome characters. So yes I hated her but I understand her.

ANIMATION & SOUND:
Well, after getting so caught up in the story and characters I usually never care for whether the music or animation is top notch. I'm usually someone who watches the ending and openings once then just skips them so it's very hard for me to critique this. But the animation was beautiful especially the action scenes I always felt like I was immersed into them-I could picture it actually happening~
Some flaws would be those close camera shot pans with the faces it looked..a little odd at times- but it's hard for them to get everything right. They work so hard for us fans anyways.
As for the sound the opening song was really good and I enjoyed it more than the ending one. However, I can't really be a judge of sound as i never pay it mind much.

ENJOYMENT:
Okay, Lastly I definetely enjoyed this. I'm sorry if you don't like his anime and see it for it's good merits. I laughed, I cried, I sat on the edge of my seat and felt anger, jelousy and annoyance while watching. These emotions are all good reason why I feel that the sequel does deserve some respect and does prove to be a great anime~ The first season was better but I feel bias is unnecessary for this sequel.
Compared to other sequels such as Clannad:After Story and Little Busters:Refrain where you see the stronger developments instead- this is a sequel that seems to just highlight the after events and prove the love formed in the first season.
With that, I shall end my review. I hope this helps understand a little more of the good sides of this sequel~
Thanks for Reading
