First off, this is an anime that gets better with the sequels unlike others who sort of drop in quality. That means that season 3 is the best and yes, it definitely is but to get to it, you'll have to endure seasons 1 and 2.
I liked and didn't like this anime from time to time. To watch it, you must have a firm resolve because you will definitely want to leave it in between seasons 1 and 2 but season 3 is really good.
There is not much romance in the first 2 seasons. It is clear who the characters in the romance are but nothing happens.
As for comedy, not much. I barely remember if I laughed during this series.
Action, there's plenty of it. Almost in every episode but the real action starts at the end of season 2 and during the war in season 3.
Superpowers and supernatural, both are present. Supernatural being the presence of demons and other mystic beings. And superpowers are according to the character e.g. fire, magic etc.
The animation and character design looks childish and doesn't give the whole badass feel though some characters may look good.
And another good thing is that it's got a complete ending unlike most anime that end with everything returning to how it was etc.
This is the longest action superpower anime I've seen and all I can say is that it was ok. Not bad but not too great either.
If you've got spare time and no other good anime to watch, then this would be a good choice. But don't watch it if you're looking for some action with romance. You can watch tons of other romance anime in the duration it would take to get the romance in Shana.
It is similar to Kaze no Stigma but Stigma is way better.
Overall, if you're going to watch this, don't leave it in the middle because getting to S3 is what's it all about. Otherwise don't watch it, because the first two seasons aren't anything great.
