This review is more of a vent than anything else, coming back after 2 years to read it again sparks the fire that burnt out after finishing it. I remember how much I hated the characters in this Anime.
This animation... was absolutely horrible.
"Oh I'm just going to let Haruto do his thing with me, and when he mans up to take responsibility... I'll reject him?" What the fuck, are you an idiot? and Haruto not expressing his feelings? What is he 12? No one in the whole world is that humble at that age. He's 17 for crying out loud. You might die tomorrow piloting that thing, might as well grow some hair. Plus you're killing thousands of human lives. The producers should've thought of that. "Oh this kid is going out there to kill his enemies to save his people."
I understand this is about mechs and what not, but it's not listed under the fantasy genre, therefore those kids should have human thoughts. It's not easy to wave a sword and kill a person, unless you're like L-Elf and the Dorssians. The beginning was okay, I thought "Well, he's not expressing his feelings for her, maybe when he's about to die he'll do it." Nope he didn't receive any closure, in fact, NO ONE (but Inuzuka) had closure. It was pathetic. No human being would act tough all the way till the end when they lose the bottom half of their body. Just the fact that people break easily all the time, crying to colorful drawings being animated and what not, should already be a sign that the human mind isn't as strong as those, things. Only Haruto had, some what, human feelings. He cried way too much though, and never spoke for himself, which pissed me off. I felt like reaching through the screen and punching him(or should I say her). Like, when Shoko called him a monster, he should've exploded and been like "WELL YOU KNOW WHAT BITCH, YOU GET IN THAT SHIT AND TRY IT OUT." or he could've just told them all the truth about how they were all made in the VVV project to pilot Valvraves, and Inoko's(the one that shot him, I believe) father is one of the scientists that created them all.
I hate animations where the main protagonist doesn't have balls. It's an Action/Mecha. Enough with all the poorly created, shit-hole characters. I've watched way too many action animes where the main character is "Oh I'm so weak and lame, and I'm going to cry 90% of the time" then --character progression-- and wamm! I GREW BALLS... Pathetic, I want more animes with main characters that have guts already, but no strength, then grew strength. Like L-Elf. Even Neon Genesis was like this, but I gave it a pass because most of the main characters received closure, and the world was ending so... It's acceptable.
I hope everyone reads this and just blows up, because that's human nature. Hate my review, my thoughts? Blow up, that's what you're supposed to do, but Haruto? He didn't do shit. Saki? Is SHIT, Shoko? IS SHIT, THEY'RE ALL SHIT(besides L-Elf, Inuzaka, Yamada, and Akira for punching the floor with her Valvrave because of Shoko). One last thing, who the fuck's kid is that at the end? It better not be Saki's child, because it should look like Haruto, if it's Haruto's child, I won't hate this anime as much. If it is Saki's but not Haruto's, fuck you producers of Valvrave.
