This review might sound a bit one sides, but I will try my best to balance my view.

This anime is sooobaaaahhhraaahhhhshiiiiyaaa!

Warning: There might be some Spoilers.

I found out about this anime in an anime store in Taipei, Taiwan. I caught a small preview of Kuroshitsuji: Book of Circus, and I thought it was very interesting and it caught my attention (With the gunfighting and the guy getting owned cuz his men got taken cared of and what not) so I stayed a little whiles to find out what the anime was called and I found out it was Black Butler.

When I returned home I journeyed upon my laptop to watch this Black Butler. What I found was a world of SUBARASHI! This plot will take you on a journey of twists and turns when you least expect it.

The Story:

As this is my first Mystery anime, and I don't have much experience with reading a lot of mystery novels/manga let alone an anime/movie. Although that is a factor, I find that this story is just so smart and mind fuddling at times, the plot takes you on so many twists and turns that you wouldn't even expect. Despite the storyline being mysterious and cliffhanging, it is also a very dark and tragedy that fell upon Ciel Phantomhive. As he solves the crimes that appear in London, he searches for those who he must enact his revenge on. Although Anyways, Black Butler focuses on Sebastian helping Ciel Phantomhive solve crimes while helping him achieve his revenge when one day, it lands on the front door of his home. Actually he lands at the footsteps of his enemies (Angela).

The Art:

I myself find little fault with the art and I find it pretty fitting with the story and the atmosphere, etc. There are sometimes where the art could've been better, in my opinion, the Undertaker/Legendary Shinigami's shop could've been better drawn. Many things that many people might dislike Black Butler for is that it often switches between the comedy style that you see with the workforce (Mey-rin, Finnian, Bardroy, Sebastian, Greill Sutcliffe, etc.) One extremely positive thing about the art that made it a ten was Sebastian's love of homeless cats is priceless, Pluto throwing away the kitty and wanting Sebastian's love in Black Butler. It is SUBARAHSHI!

The Sound:

I enjoy the opening and ending songs, especially BECCA with her I'm Alive as well as Monochorme no kiss, even though some other endings sound a bit satanic, I'm down with the songs man. As for the sound effects, they don't really have any problems that I see. One thing that I personally didn't really like but liked at the same time, the way Sebastian says "Yes, My Lord.".

The Characters:

In the beginning, they didn't really explain anything too detailed about the characters, only some of the basics. As the plot goes on, Regardless of his tainted past(torture, etc,), his parent's deaths, and the future that awaits him, Ciel Phantomhive truly fights headstrong against those who oppose him. This chance that Ciel Phantomhive seized was given to him by Sebastian in order for him to eat his soul, but despite that fact this seems to me as a representation of hope in a hopeless situation. Many of the servants were also in very crappy situations before they went working for Sebastians, as you see later on in the anime. They were also stuck in a hopeless and sad situation and was given a second chance by Sebastian and was sent to work in a place they enjoyed. Maybe this anime represents that out of darkness there will always be hope, and maybe in Ciel's case and out of that hope will be a demon to consume your soul after you enact your revenge.

My Enjoyment:

SUBARAHSHI

Overall:

Overall, I found it very enjoyable especially watching Sebastian love those cats.
