NGNL is special in its own way that it pulls the characters into a game-like world and the characters enjoy that fact. The idea that life is merely a game is definitely cliche in contemporary anime, but the fact that the characters are willing to go along with this way of life is definitely different (as opposed to say... SAO or Log Horizon).

As for the things that spoke out to me were how amazing the protagonists are portrayed. Sora and Shiro have such an amazing way of playing games and living life that one can't help but be pulled towards the show.

The fanservice is kept as much as a minimum as they can in my opinion. Afterall, the show does include an eighteen year old NEET siscon virgin and his genius younger sister. The fanservice is only used as comedy in this show which is a huge plus. (I could do without all the pointless fanservice in teenage animes...)

Overall, it's an anime that can be enjoyed by all (although I would keep it away from young children :P) and it's also appealing to people who think anime is dumb! (I've tried this!)

Definitely a must watch!
