Shinsekai Yori is without a doubt one of the greatest anime series ever created. You have to understand ~ That isn't something I throw around carelessly. From the very first episode I was captivated by this dark and twisted tale of love. It stands as the only anime to hold my attention to such an extent that I ended up watching the entire show in one sitting.. I just HAD to know what would happen next.. I've never been gripped like that before it was a wonderful feeling to say the least. Quite often that wonder was accompanied with dread and sadness. This anime will build you up and then break you down piece by piece. I cannot speak another word for I fear I will spoil your enjoyment of the anime. I believe everyone should go into watching this anime just as I did.. with absolutely no expectations of what the show is about. Go into it as a new born baby that is experiencing life for the first time .. and come out of it as a war hardened man... or woman :)
