Well to begin starting this like most other people I thought it was going to be a Sword Art Online reboot but to my surprise they don't want to escape the game, they want to stay in this world so it was nice to see a spin on this often played story.
Story (7)- the story is simple enough for anyone to understand but also goes into depth for people who enjoy those types of shows so it pleases both audiences which i think a lot of animes can learn from this. But sadly the story and atmosphere of this serious situation is taken as a joke and once the the mood is serious the vibe is always shattered with a lame joke and i feel it's often distracts the story telling. I do enjoy anime that can successfully balance humor and story telling but this is not one of those animes, timing is everything and i feel this is something the anime needed.
Art (9)- The art is very fun and pretty to look at and for sure has a signature look to it which i think anyone who watches a lot of anime can appreciate, nothing more to say than this. I have no complaints about the art.
Sound (8)- Nothing notable with the exception of intense situations and having a very intense and fitting song. Other than this I didn't notice any other ost tracks that stuck out to me, just casual background music to me.
Character (7)- Okay so I probably had the hardest time judging this section because my personal view of the characters vary so so much and given a solid score from certain characters that score as low as a 4 and others who score as high as a 8, it just makes it hard to give an accurate score. Without giving spoilers to future characters of the series I'll just talk about Sora and Shiro. Well firstly Sora is very annoying and very sweet sometimes, I personally never liked the perv character so he was bound for me not to like him but he does have a sweet side and a strong leader trait that makes him a great person to follow as long as he's not being an idiot. Now the genius Shiro is adorable to watch and her emotionless voice to go along with her colorful personality is just so much fun to watch, for sure one of the best characters in the series, only complain would be just less panty shots of her, like seriously, she's 11 years old, how hasn't a law suit been filed against this shit.
Enjoyment (7)- What a roller coaster this anime was, for me it went from boring to exciting back to boring for an ep or two then exciting then the final game at the start being boring then ending on a high note which was probably the best moment of the show so overall it just left me confused on how to feel about it. This anime has it's moments and when it does it becomes very exciting and if you feel really sucked into the show but when the show becomes boring it's -very- boring and it just feels like I'm watching this just to say i finished it. In short, it has it's moments of both being great and horrible.
Overall (7)- The strong points of this anime are incredible and the weak points of this anime is just torture to watch. So many mixed feelings of this but overall i don't regret watching this and if there is a season 2 I will most likely watch it.
