Honestly, at the premier of its first episode, I thought D.Gray-man had the potential to be one of my top-5 animes. The first arc had a very dramatic, mystical, intense impact on me. The storyline seemed absolutely interesting to me and looked like one of those awesome shonens that weren't just all fighting but a more well-thought-out storyline possessing shonen that still retained superb action. I really do miss the feel of the first arc. But oh man, during the whole arc with just disgusting fillers, my impression of D-Gray-man just rotted. When it finally got back to the storyline, I thought it was good but not as much as the first episodes. Now the show is cancelled/or on hiatus? and I'm very disappointed! I hope they continue the anime soon. I plan to rewatch the first few episodes because I forgot how awesome they were. (It's been years? o_o) Anyways, it was a really awesome anime. A definite recommendation. I'm one of those fans that watch through the fillers of series just to know I watched every episode of the series; but in D.Grayman's case, I suggest people skip the fillers. >_>
