What Is It?
Fullmetal Alchemist is one of a kind, and it isn't a secret. Even if someone hasn't watched a lot of anime, they've probably seen FMA.
Sometimes when something gets a lot of praise, you automatically set high expectations for it before seeing it. Sometimes you are disappointed (Frozen) but this isn't one of those disappointments.

Story.
FMA is revolved around a magic-like science called alchemy, and with it, the main characters, Ed and Alphonse Elric, go on a journey to discover secrets and mysteries of the world they survive in. The science of alchemy is to them as the universe is to us. We've only scratched the surface, but there is much more underneath that we may never get to. In their case, pursing the truth may cost them everything, and maybe everything from the people around them as well.

Art.
Some say that Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood has better art than Fullmetal Alchemist. While FMAB may have been a bit smoother and detailed, it also included a lot more comedy art. If you don't know what I'm talking about, it's when they go all chibi or kawaii or whatever you want to call it. While FMA used those scenes in moderation, I feel that FMAB over did it... by a lot. Anyways, I think the art in FMA is fine. It isn't anything to gawk at, but it gets the job done pretty well.

Sound.
Instead of telling you why the actors are great for these rolls, I'll just give you links to a list of other things that they've played in. Overall, they have some pretty well known voice actors.

Character.
Ed is the attitude and fun of the show. While Al does provide occasional entertainment, he could be called Ed's sidekick. The character development for the two boys is done quiet well. You get the idea of what their hopes and dreams are and then you feel excited for them when they uncover the next secret because they're one step closer. Each character is unique, and you don't ever get a cookie cutter feeling when looking at them. I did enjoy the characters in FMAB a bit better than FMA though.

Enjoyment.
I never got bored. This was one of those animes that made me forget that I had an actual life.

Overall I think this anime deserves an 8/10. I could say that they could have done better, they already have. FMAB is by far better than FMA. The simplicity of FMA's story compared to FMAB is calming though :). This anime does need recognition for it's awesomeness though. Thanks for reading.
