After reading all the rave reviews on this, I decided to give it a watch. I had been wanting to watch it for some time and finally got around to watching it today. Man, was I disappointed. Yes, the animation was quite stunning, in fact the landscapes were one of my favorite parts on watching this. The stories though, for some reason I felt like they lacked substance and were just there, yes I understand that it was about growing up and whatnot but I just didn't find this enjoying. It was boring for me, but obviously others enjoyed it. It honestly seemed repetitive, like it was nothing really new so nothing memorable. The railroad scenes though, I felt like I was watching The Girl Who Leapt Through Time for some reason and it started to bother me. The plot could've been more thought out and focused other than being repetitive and unclear, maybe I missed something I don't know, I'll catch it next time. I'll watch it again at a later date and review again if I find that I enjoy it better.
