Shinigami to Chocolate Parfait is a story about a guy, Jinna Amakura, that doesn't want to die. The problem is, a Shinigami (Soul Reaper), called Nagi Fuuryuu has to reap his soul, so Jinna can continue the cycle of rebirth. Only Nagi just keeps failing doing this. It's actually extremely funny to see a clumsy shinigami hunting such a "skilled" surviver.

Between the parts were Nagi tries to kill Jinna, you can really feel some kind of weird romance also found in other "romantic" action comedies like Shakugan no Shana or Zero no Tsukaima. They will never say that they love each other, but they will protect each other no matter what.

The story itself wasn't too long, so there weren't any annoying chapters about their feelings or too many scenes were Nagi chased Jinna. Any more stuff wouldn't be necessary and could be tagged as filling material or a sequel.

Though I read the manga in poor quality, I thought the art is very good. Nagi is really cute, Jinna doesn't look too weird and the background art is pretty decent too.

The characters are really simple. You'll learn what they want to achieve and they'll use any method they seem necessary to achieve that. Nagi is a bit of an exception, thats because she doesn't know what she wants. She has to kill Jinna, but her morals (and Jinna) say that killing is a bad thing.
It was nice to see how Nagi changed her opinion and fought with morals and duties, but it was a bit disappointing that Jinna didn't change that much.

Overall I thought that this manga was great and I'll probably read it again, since it is fairly short, funny and I liked the "romantic" atmosphere.
